Tamara was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, in 1987. With overflowing support from her parents she spent her childhood in art classes at the National Art Gallery, The Ottawa School of Art, and ceramic classes at the YMCA. Her grandmother, a professional portrait painter, introduced her to oil paints at a young age. As a teenager she continued her pursuit of the arts by graduating from Canterbury High School’s Drawing and Painting Program. She attended the Ottawa School of Art’s Portfolio Program which garnered her admittance to Toronto’s Ontario College of Art and Design. In 2011 she earned her BFA in Drawing and Painting.
She is most drawn to the human figure and exploring the intricate colour complexity of flesh with the lush quality of oil paint.
Her work is a journey of introspection through the stages of her family’s life. After purchasing a stone house from the 1800s, located in Augusta Township, she continues to explore rural life, the local art scene, and the joy of raising a family with her loving husband.
